Obama’s transportation plan: too many roads, not enough rails.
That Cleaver Boulevard streetscaping could be a big deal. We have many islands of activity in midtown, seemingly unconnected from each other – the Plaza, the Nelson, the Kemper, Southmoreland Park, Stowers Institute, UMKC, 50th&Main/Plaza Library. Better streetscaping along Cleaver could begin to tie these areas together and bring more activity to the blighted eastern areas. And imagine the foot traffic from the Plaza to Gates!
